Blanketed in Hope: Our First Winter with Lavender

When we first decided to grow lavender, we weren’t sure it would survive a Tennessee winter. We’d delayed planting, unsure if the young plants could take the chill.

But the next spring, we were greeted with the sweetest surprise—new growth and a modest yield. In this photo, my husband helps cover our lavender with hay to insulate it for the cold months. Not fancy, but full of care.

Sometimes the biggest steps forward start with a little hesitation... and a whole lot of hay.
