The entire process, from harvesting to extraction, requires approximately three hours. Varying amounts of oil are produced each run, depending upon a multitude of elements, e.g., lavender variety, weather conditions/yield for the season, the compactness of the still, etc.

Achieving success in lavender farming requires meticulous attention to detail, diligent research, and careful observation to select the best plants for distillation. Specifically, it takes 50 lbs of plant material and three hours of distillation to produce just one or two containers of oil- a testament to the delicate nature of lavender.

At present, we employ three varieties of lavender for oil production. We plan to keep refining our choices of lavender to ensure the essential oil is satisfactory for ourselves and our customers. With this blog, we hope to help you gain insight into the process behind transporting one drop of essential oil from our farm to your home.
